November Record Numbers

January 6, 2010

The November 2009 passenger total at General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) set a record as the airport’s busiest November ever, thanks in part to the launch of Southwest Airlines service. More than 725,000 passengers, a 37.96 percent increase compared to November 2008, passed through MKE in November. Following new and increased service offerings, 34 percent more airlines seats were available – room for November’s 200,000 additional passengers. “With 12 airlines and nearly 220 daily departures, MKE has become one of the most price competitive airports in the nation,” said airport director Barry Bateman.
