Service to San Francisco and Raleigh/Durham Takes Off in April
MILWAUKEE (November 10, 2009) – Midwest Airlines today announced it will expand its route map from Milwaukee with nonstop service between Milwaukee and both San Francisco and Raleigh/Durham, N.C. Milwaukee’s hometown airline will launch San Francisco service on April 19, 2010 and Raleigh/Durham service on April 1, 2010.
“This is further evidence of Midwest’s commitment to the Milwaukee community,” said Jim Reichart, Midwest’s director of Advertising and Brand. “We’re proud to offer Milwaukee-area travelers more flights and more nonstop destinations than any other carrier.” With the new service, Midwest will provide nonstop service from Milwaukee to 34 cities.
The San Francisco service will be operated on 136-seat Airbus A319 aircraft, featuring 3-by-3 all-leather seating, four rows of stretch seating with 36 inches of legroom and 24 channels of DIRECTV at every seat. The twice-daily Raleigh/Durham service – the only nonstop service on the route – will be operated on 76-seat Embraer 170 aircraft, featuring 2-by-2 all-leather seating. Flights on both routes will offer buy-onboard meals and snacks, and complimentary baked-onboard chocolate chip cookies.
To celebrate the launch of the new service, Midwest is offering pricing beginning at $96 one way on the Milwaukee-San Francisco route and at $89 one way on the Milwaukee-Raleigh/Durham route.
