FAA Salutes Milwaukee's Bravest

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently presented an award to the Milwaukee County Fire and Maintenance Departments for their assistance with the FAA's decision to implement the ASDE-X System at Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport.

The purpose of ASDE-X is to provide the controllers with detailed information about aircraft locations and movement at night and in bad weather, thereby increasing the level of safety at airports.
