"Extreme
Makeover" Aims to Impress
General Mitchell International Airport is undergoing a facelift, including
several renovation projects that will prepare the facility to accommodate an
increasing number of passengers:
- A complete remodel of the retail concession mall is
under way. The reconstructed, relocated M&I Bank was the first to reopen. A new, permanent
716-square-foot Starbucks location has opened at the entrance to Concourse D.
The CNBC newsstand, Brooks Brothers Retail and new PGA store began construction
May 1 and are scheduled for completion in mid-summer.
- The renovation and widening of Concourse C begins early June.
- The Concourse D security checkpoint-widening project
has begun, and will result in the addition of two more security
lanes.
Stay tuned for the "final reveal."
