Mitchell Introduces “Green” Buses, Recognized for Environmental Stewardship

Three alternative fuel shuttle buses are now busily transporting Mitchell travelers to and fro, helping save customers’ legs and the environment. The new shuttles use compressed natural gas (CNG), which helps reduce air pollution and greenhouse gases. Mitchell Airport plans to replace all 10 diesel shuttles with new CNG vehicles within the next few years.

On a related note…Mitchell Airport recently was honored by Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for the third consecutive year for ensuring that all airport operations comply with environmental standards that serve to protect Lake Michigan and the surrounding environment.
