2006 a Record Year for Mitchell Airport

General Mitchell International Airport finished 2006 with an all-time-high number of passengers. More than 7 million travelers used Mitchell, including a growing number of Illinois passengers. Airport Director Barry Bateman attributes passenger growth to the increased number of flights to popular business and leisure destinations at competitive airfares. Additionally, airport renovations have made the airport easier to navigate and more comfortable for passengers.
